The ‘ropeway’, or cable car, connects lower and upper Gangtok. In this video, the car is full of Indian tourists, and the motion and commotion give just a little taste of India. The ropeway takes one down to the Institute of Tibetology, and the famous Chorten Gompa, one of the most important monasteries in Sikkim. At the upper end is Hotel Pomra, home to our program, and the Ridge road, leading to Enchey Monastery and the Himalayan Zoological Park.
